See-the-Sound Visual Phonics is a system of sound associations which represent each sound in our language with a hand signal and a graphic or written symbol. In See-the-Sound Visual Phonics the 46 hand signals represent sounds, not letters or words. Each symbol always represents the same sound and therefore much of the frustration with learning the English language is avoided.
Visual Phonics is a multi-sensory approach. The mouth movement for each phoneme or sound is represented by a hand gesture. The hand signal is then reflected in the written symbol. Students taught with this approach are able to use hand signs to cue themselves and teachers can use the signs and symbols to assist reading, speaking, and spelling skills. For more information please contact our parent company ICLI (International Communication Learning Institute)
We offer training workshops for the See-the-Sound Visual Phonics program, as well as informational sessions.
