Workshops must be (a minimum of) 10 contact hours and are typically done in two day sessions (extended sessions are available). We will also show you ways we use Visual Phonics in our classrooms and speech therapy sessions.  Workshops are very "hands on" and you will have opportunities to see and use authentic games and materials. Ample practice time is also incorporated into the sessions. You will leave our workshop ready to use this system in your classroom the next day!!

WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 10 participants; maximum of 40 participants
• Trainers provide 1 copy of workshop workbook, contracting district/cooperative provides single-sided copies for all participants.
• Classrooms style seating, with tables for writing/work/activities
• LCD projector and screen; White board or chart pad
• Podium or table for presenters use while presenting
• Table for activity/materials for sale
• Microphone/sound field amplification for large groups/rooms
• Copy of workshop evaluations provided to trainers following workshop

Same as full training, but with additional hours built in to meet college credit requirements, including extra worksheets, practice time, homework and final exam.  Contracting district/cooperative must have university affiliation.

We are now offering a  Level II Visual Phonics course, which is 6 contact hours in duration.  All participants MUST be previously trained in Visual Phonics and have used it for at least one school year.  The class will involve:  A review of all hand shapes and symbols; information on any updates to the system; questions/ answers; problem solving/brainstorming; (participant led) show and share; and a make & take session, in which all participants will make 4 projects to take home with them.

• Minimum of 5 participants; maximum of 20 participants
• Trainers provide 1 copy of (small) review/project instruction workbook, contracting district/cooperative provides single-sided copies for all participants
• 3 clusters of tables for group project; ample floor space for floor-based project  
• LCD projector and screen
• One table for presenter use
• Microphone/sound field amplification for large groups/rooms
• Copy of workshop evaluations provided to trainers following workshop
• It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that lunch be brought in for this workshop!

    Each participant will be assessed a

$10 CASH materials fee at the workshop.

Through experience, we have found that interpreters who have been trained in See-the-Sound Visual Phonics are able to provide much better/more accurarate information to workshop participants who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.  We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that interpreters for our workshops have previously been trained in STS-VP.  If your school district/cooperative does not have interpreters who have been trained, we would be happy to provide the names of licensed interpreters we have successfully worked with in the past.  Please contact us for details or with any questions.
